While even the catchiest pop songs are sometimes let down by mind-numbingly forgettable videos, there's little doubt that sultry Jamie Benson's latest single will be forever burned into the libidinous man's memory. Thanks to a kindly bunch of Cuban firemen - who selflessly donated three of their fire engines and spent hours drenching our girl with their hoses - Jamie's Dumb (Slip & Slide) video degenerates into a joyous wet-cleavage show. "The director wanted me to look wet and I was soaked," chirps the buxom 24-year-old. "Luckily enough, the bra I had on underneath my dress had a nice little pin in it, so nothing was going to be falling out!" Gratuitous nipple shots might sadly be lacking, thanks to bra padding designed to survive a nuclear war, but viewers nonetheless get ample opportunity to feast on Jamie's 34C funbags. "I don't mind getting my Lils out," she laughs. "Yes, you can see them right there in front of you in some shots, but it's tasteful and sexy. Hopefully if the video comes up on TV, it'll catch more people's eyes." Oh yes.
Formerly the lead singer with guitar-girl-group Hepburn, the 5ft 2in lovely boasts more than just a shapely figure to get the fans going, however. Born into a family of entertainers - her mum, half of bizarre husband-and-wife cabaret act Barry and Dinky, actually gave birth on the road, her contractions starting while she was up on stage in Bridgend. So Jamie certainly seems to have the pedigree: "Dad had some wicked stories to tell me when I was growing up," she says. "Paul McCartney and John Lennon were the first people to get him pissed on his 21st birthday." Brought up in Bognor Regis - "I was quite a good girl, never had any fondles under the pier" - Jamie attended the same stage school as Posh Spice and Lee from Steps, and went on to form Hepburn, their catchy debut single I Quit going straight into the Top Ten in June 1999. Later used on the soundtrack to US teen show Buffy The Vampire Slayer, the girls split in 2000, Jamie going solo. "I'm a lucky lass," she sighs, having since hooked up with the producers and band members behind big-bonced American Lenny Kravitz. "My motto's 'work hard, play hard'. I do put everything into my career, but I do like to go out and party."
